UCM's Cynthia N. Hull Food Pantry
We need all the help we can get with this critical part of our programs. With your food donation, you truly will be building strong families and a strong community.
There are many ways to help at the Food Pantry. You can:
Your food donation is important to UCM. Whether you are an individual donating a bag or two of food or you are coordinating a large food drive for UCM, please know that your donation is needed and will help a family right here in our community.
Much of the food we distribute is donated to us. Your donation helps us keep our food budget low, at the same time providing families with a wide variety of foods.
We all understand that everyone needs to eat to live. We all understand the benefits of nutritious food. But let’s not forget that food also provides comfort and pleasure. We all comfort ourselves with food, and we all enjoy sharing a meal with family and friends. The food you donate to UCM provides these important emotional benefits to families who struggle to make ends meet.
You might not think we need a food pantry in wealthy Fairfax County, Virginia, but many families here do need this help.
Last year, we distributed over 600,000 pounds of food directly to families in the Huntington-Mount Vernon area.
Each week, we help over 100 families with food.
UCM is part of the Food Providers Network (FPN). For nformation on the need for sustained food donations for quality food, please read FPN's brochure, Feeding the Need in Fairfax County.
